Abstract: Based on the 2014 Developers Satisfaction Survey (DSS 14) and on the DSS 15 (short version) survey questions of the International Game Developers Association, this report is an detailed examination of data seen through a socio-demographic lens. Much of this comes from a specific section of the surveys that collected information about diversity policies and practices as well as experiences of inequity. It illustrates the distribution of age, gender, location, immigration, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, family life, education and training in the videogame industry. It also analyses some consequences of this distribution in the work environment. The data used for this report was collected through an industry and university partnership between the International Game Developers Association (IGDA), M2 Research, Western University, TÉLUQ, and the Georgia Institute of Technology.
