| Résumé : | This research aims to enhance the safety and autonomy of powered mobility device (PMD) users through the development of a serious game. Rooted in a co-design and Design Thinking approach, this study highlights the initial phase of the project, which aimed to foster empathy and gain deeper insights into the experiences of PMD users. The study included 42 participants, including users with varying levels of experience with mobility aids as well as professionals from the PMD users ecosystem. Key findings highlighted common errors made by PMD users, such as improper crossing at intersections, exceeding speed limits, using unauthorized accessories on PMD, and neglecting to check blind spots. These behaviors underscored significant gaps in knowledge and practice among users. Participants also perceived notable differences between users with prior driving experience and those without, suggesting that driving background influences behavior and learning needs. This study paves the way for the development of tailored interventions and training tools, such as the proposed serious game, to bridge the identified knowledge gaps and improve the overall safety and autonomy of PMD users. |
