| Résumé : | Let G be an abelian group. We say that a weight w : G -> (0,infinity) satisfies the subconvolutive condition if there exists a constant C>0 such that w^{-q}*w^{-q}\leq C w^{-q}, where q is the Hölder conjugate of p. This condition is known to imply the boundedness of the convolution operator on the weighted space l^p(G,w), and has long served as one of the fundamental tools in the subject. A longstanding question is whether this condition is not only sufficient but also necessary for convolution stability. In this talk, I will discuss a new approach to this problem based on finite combinatorial constructions and weighted direct sums of finite groups. |
