Résumé : This article connects philosophical concepts of epistemic injustice with communication studies by examining epistemic injustice as a communicative process. While philosophers have developed important conceptual frameworks, their analyses tend to treat epistemic injustice as discrete prejudicial incidents disconnected from processes of interpretation. Communication scholars, meanwhile, have identified patterns of marginalization without fully engaging with theories of epistemic injustice. Drawing on the Montreal School’s Communicative Constitution of Organizations (CCO) framework, we demonstrate how epistemic injustice emerges through accumulation of communicative acts that develop into organizational patterns of oppression, silencing, and discrimination. Our analysis reveals three central insights: first, knowledge emerges through ongoing interactions rather than existing as an inherent property; second, power hierarchies develop recursively through communicative patterns that privilege certain voices while marginalizing others; and third, viewing epistemic injustice through a communication lens transforms our understanding of power, revealing it as a constellation of repeated actions that continuously constitute the prejudicial interaction spaces within which individuals operate as epistemic agents or face systematic denial of such recognition.
