Résumé : A model of the Virtual Campus is introduced as a result of course development atTélé-université, as well as a product of the research conducted at its research center, LICEF. The Virtual Campus model is based on the networking of a diversified array of actors and resources. Its aim is to offer an access, in real time and in asynchronous mode, to a variety of learning resources: other learners, trainers and tutors, content experts, managers and designers. These different actors communicate with distant computer-based servers offering multimedia documents, courseware, integrated tools for task achievement and training, individual or group messages files, projects and activities. We present here a survey of six different telelearning models situating LICEF’s Virtual Campus model, its actors and their functions, the process in which they participate and the role they play, as well asthe virtual spaces of resources they use. We also present five different implementations of the model and we outline future research and development in this field.
