Résumé : The last decade has seen a turning point in research on context effect-based education with the implementation of the TEEC project (Technologies Éducatives pour l’Enseignement en Contexte – Educational Technologies for Teaching in Context). This project is aimed at conceptualizing a techno-pedagogical model where context, in the various forms that it may take, occupies a central role. Several experiments using the context effect-based pedagogical approach have been completed successfully. The fundamental principle of this approach is the involvement of student groups living in distinct geographic areas, sharing the same language and collaborating on subjects that have local specificities. The collaboration is done synchronously and asynchronously through existing digital platforms. Multiple digital tools are being developed to assist in the creation of such pedagogical projects, including (1) Mazcalc: a context modeler and calculator that can be used to model an object of study in distinct geographical contexts. It is connected to (2) an authoring system that creates learning scenarios based on the contextual specificities of the study project in the two geographical areas involved. And (3) a context-aware intelligent tutoring system is designed to support learning, teaching and research activities. In this chapter, the global findings on the context effect-based education and research will be detailed along with the developments in digital tools.
