Abstract:	Ce livre se veut un manuel de référence pour un cours d’introduction aux preuves mathématiques. Il vise donc à faciliter la transition des cours de mathématiques principalement axés sur le calcul à des cours conceptuellement plus avancés basés sur la preuve. Se faisant, il est destiné aux étudiants en début de premier cycle universitaire souhaitant se familiariser avec le langage, les connaissances fondamentales et les méthodes propres aux mathématiques abstraites. Bien qu’il s’agisse là d’un créneau où la compétition est déjà fort nombreuse et relevée, les auteurs – Sebastian M. Cioaba et Werner Linde – sont néanmoins arrivés à faire une proposition pertinente et sans pareille. L’originalité de leur livre tient moins à son contenu qu’à sa structure.
